What is the recruitment process

As a small team (~24 folks), it’s imperative that we get to know each other before taking the leap. We want to ensure you succeed in your role within our team. Each conversation (telephonic/video conference) with us will last about 30-60 minutes. Typically the whole process takes between 4 - 14 business days depending on your and our schedules. The process will occur over telephonic calls, so you don’t need to worry about travel.

  1. Setting expectations: This will be a call to understand your profile briefly and see to which roles it matches up to.
  2. Technical conversation I & II: This will be a telephonic call with our current Sales team wherein you can expect to be evaluated on your sales skills and other competencies needed for the job (mentioned below).
  3. Writing Evaluation: This is a short writing assessment to make sure that you meet the writing standards required in the job.
  4. Culture fit conversation: A telephonic conversation with one of our founders to ensure that there is a fit with the Kraftshala Kode.
  5. Extending an offer: If all goes well, we will extend an offer mentioning the relevant details.

Compensation

  • You should expect 7L - 9L INR / annum as your salary depending on your past experience and competency level with an 80-20 split between fixed and variable.

Program Manager Role Description

What you will be doing

Kraftshala runs training programs for working professionals and B-school students. As a program manager, your goal would be to lead and execute various activities that lead to a gold standard learning experience. If you draw energy and satisfaction by helping people become a better version of themselves and have a knack of problem solving, this is the role for you.

Program Management

  • Planning activities and resources for incoming batches of students
  • Ensuring students receive all program, project, other initiatives etc. related information in-time and in-full
  • Understanding and solving their queries quickly by liaising with different stakeholders, both internal and external, - Academic team, Product & Tech team, Industry experts, current and ex-students etc.
  • Coordinating with different teams to ideate new activities that will further improve their experience and executing the same
  • Keeping a close watch on the feedback received from the students on various initiatives and incorporating any changes required to further enhance the experience
  • Monitoring metrics for success and closely monitoring and reviewing performance at a weekly, monthly, quarterly level with targets

Process Optimization

While working with a large set of students, student experience becomes a function of the processes designed to deliver it and so, you’ll be

  • Identifying gaps/activities which can be managed more efficiently, designing and implementing processes (including building upon/modifying the existing ones) to deliver an outstanding experience to the students
  • Employing various tools, softwares and platforms to automate processes thereby reducing human intervention to ensure a seamless delivery

Team Management

This role will require you to both execute well yourself as well as work with junior members and interns to help them deliver. Your individual brilliance gets capped by the overall team’s performance. So it’s critical to ensure that your entire team is aligned on the objectives and you’ve adopted practices that further enables them to deliver on it. On this front, you’ll be

  • Leading a team 2-3 including interns, to manage the complete user experience: ideation, execution, and feedback
  • Solving problems they cannot solve on their own and equipping them with the rights tools to manage efficiently thereafter
  • Create a user centric culture that puts greater focus on understanding real user issues and solving them

Must Have Skills:

  • 2-4 years of prior experience in program management, operations or similar roles with experience in managing teams/interns. (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for)
  • Empathy and a high Emotional Quotient to actively engage with students, understand & solve their queries
  • A user-focussed mindset to design processes and activities to deliver an outstanding experience to all stakeholders
  • A structured approach to problem solving, which involves struggling with the problem till you are able to isolate the Why before coming to the solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive results to independently manage a set of programs
  • A knack of getting things done to ensure timely resolution of all user challenges

Sales Associate/ Assistant Manager (Admissions) Role Description

What you will be doing

What you will be doing Our programs receive hundreds (sometimes thousands) of admission enquiries every month. As a member of the admissions team, your key activities include:

  • Counseling: A big part of your role will be helping our potential applicants to figure whether (and which) Kraftshala program will help them drive their careers forward. You will be required to build relationships with working professionals and students, understand their capabilities and underlying goals, and help them through the application process.
  • Business Development: Another critical part of the role would be to drive preference for Kraftshala amongst current students of our partnering business schools by engaging relevant stakeholders.

Must have competencies

  • High levels of emotional intelligence, in particular empathy and listening ability
  • Willingness to counsel and add value even if the applicant is not likely to become a part of our community
  • Ability to impact and convince with speaking and writing skills

Lead Engineer Role Description

What you will be doing

You will be working on a consumer product made using React.js, Redux and TypeScript in front-end and in back-end we use PHP and GoLang with MongoDB which is used by thousands of India's best business students and working professionals. You’ll need to walk the fine line between simplicity of use and complexity of features and lead a team of front-end and back-end developers defining the technology roadmap. We are working to gamify the learning experience for our users.

Must Have Skills

  • A good to great grasp of client-side frameworks such as React.js will be integral to your success
  • A strong working knowledge of HTML & CSS will ensure that you can create those pixel-perfect pages with ease.
  • Being able to understand & design REST APIs is critical to ensure any reasonably complex functionality on the front-end.
  • Basic knowledge of relational database systems (MySQL/PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • A Strong product design sensibilities and obsessive attention to detail.
  • Ability to take complex problems and break them down into smaller tasks

Digital Marketing Manager, Role Description

What you will be doing

If you love digital marketing and would like to become an absolute expert, this is as close to a dream role as you could get.

Digital Marketing (~80% of your time):

We generate hundreds of applications every month, and your goal is to take them to thousands, and in some time, tens of thousands.

  • Paid Marketing: You’ll be planning and optimising campaigns to drive growth for Kraftshala across Social/ Display/ Search. You will be constantly testing, measuring and iterating to improve RoIs.
  • Organic Marketing: You will also be required to implement and monitor the best practices of SEO and ASO to drive discoverability for the Kraftshala website and app.

Training (~20% of your time):

All members of the Kraftshala marketing team (including the co-founders) spend a substantial portion of their time in training emerging talent

  • Content Development: You will combine insights from your experience, plus conversations from top digital marketing experts in India to create simplified frameworks for Kraftshala students. You would be asked to experiment with new tools, platforms etc to help our training programs up-to-date.
  • Coaching: You will also take sessions, coach students in groups, design relevant projects and provide feedback to students of our digital marketing programs.

To summarise:

The learnings which you’ll get through training, speaking to experts on one hand and simplifying concepts for beginners on the other hand, will enable you to run better campaigns, which in turn will help you train better. This virtuous loop will help you become a kickass marketing professional.

Must Have Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital marketing, especially running paid campaigns. (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for).
  • A strong grasp of one of the following and a working knowledge of the other
    • paid media tools and optimization strategies that work under various contexts.
    • SEO and content.
  • A structured approach to problem solving, which involves struggling with the problem till you are able to isolate the Why before coming to the solutions
  • High levels of learning agility to constantly to learn and adapt to new platforms, contexts and ideas.
  • Previous experience as a part of a consumer product-oriented team
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as the easy-to-miss details.
