What is the recruitment process

As a small team (~25 folks), it’s imperative that we get to know each other before taking the leap. We want to ensure you succeed in your role within our team. Each conversation (telephonic/video conference) with us will last about 30-60 minutes. Typically the whole process takes between 7 - 15 business days depending on your and our schedules.   2. Content Task: This is a specially designed assessment to understand whether you have the skills to succeed in the Marketing Associate role.
  3. Technical conversation : This will be a call with one of our Marketing Team leaders to discuss the Task and other functional skills you’ll need to succeed in this role.

Compensation

  • You should expect 6L - 9L INR / annum as your salary depending on past experience and comfort with marketing strategies, digital tools, growth techniques etc with an 85-15 split between fixed and variable.

Role Description for Associate/ Senior Associate - Content and Social Media

What you will be doing

As India’s premier marketing and sales online training platform, we have assembled a bunch of learnings and insights. Your goal is help us leverage social media platforms to drive reach for these learnings by:

  • Creating shorter, easily “digestible” pieces of content that make these learnings interesting, relevant and engaging on any one or more of 3 key platforms- Instagram, LinkedIn or YouTube. Examples:
  • Guiding the video editing and design teams to deliver fresh, engaging creatives
  • Writing engaging copy for our social media handles, websites and other marketing material for Kraftshala
  • Build organic discoverability of our assets through platform specific strategy

Must Have Skills:

  • An ability to quickly understand marketing and sales concepts from different sub-domains
  • A flair for converting concepts into simple and interesting pieces- video scripts, instagram carousels, LinkedIn posts, articles etc
  • An understanding how content travels on any one of the following platforms: Instagram, YouTube or LinkedIn.
  • A structured approach to problem solving, which involves struggling with the problem till you are able to isolate the “Why” before coming up with a solution
  • High levels of learning agility to constantly to learn and adapt to new platforms, contexts and ideas.
  • Ability to see the big picture as well as the easy-to-miss details.

Good to Have Skills:

  • 2-3 years of experience in social media content creation (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for)

Sales Associate/ Assistant Manager (Admissions) Role Description

What you will be doing

Our programs receive hundreds (sometimes thousands) of admission enquiries every month. As a member of the admissions team, your key activities include:

  • Counseling: A big part of your role will be helping our potential applicants to figure whether (and which) Kraftshala program will help them drive their careers forward. You will be required to build relationships with working professionals and students, understand their capabilities and underlying goals, and help them navigate the application process.
  • Business Development: Another critical part of the role would be to drive preference for Kraftshala amongst current students of our partnering business schools by engaging with relevant stakeholders and developing sustainable partnerships.

Must have competencies

  • High levels of emotional intelligence, in particular empathy and listening ability

Lead Engineer Role Description

What you will be doing

You will be working on a consumer product made using React.js, Redux and TypeScript in front-end and in back-end we use PHP and GoLang with MongoDB which is used by thousands of India's best business students and working professionals. You’ll need to walk the fine line between simplicity of use and complexity of features and lead a team of front-end and back-end developers defining the technology roadmap. We are working to gamify the learning experience for our users.

Must Have Skills

  • A good to great grasp of client-side frameworks such as React.js will be integral to your success
  • A strong working knowledge of HTML & CSS will ensure that you can create those pixel-perfect pages with ease.
  • Being able to understand & design REST APIs is critical to ensure any reasonably complex functionality on the front-end.
  • Basic knowledge of relational database systems (MySQL/PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • A Strong product design sensibilities and obsessive attention to detail.

Senior Developer- Backend Role Description

What you will be doing

Product Development:

We operate a number of consumer products across web and mobile that are used by thousands of India’s high potential professionals to learn, get mentored from business leaders and transform their careers. These products are built on React.js and Redux in the front-end and PHP and Node.js with MongoDB and MySQL in the back-end.

Your goal will be to take these products to the next level of user experience.

Team leadership:

Kraftshala started by subcontracting it’s technology development to an external partner, and over the last year has shifted all product development in-house by creating a new team. We are very much a young team in the making, and are looking for someone who’d enjoy

  • Responsibility to chart out the tech roadmap for Kraftshala
  • Independence to figure their own problem solving approaches
  • Grooming interns and other junior developers as a defacto team lead

Must Haves:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a part of a consumer product-oriented team (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for).
  • Proficient knowledge in Laravel and Node.js
  • The ability to understand & design REST APIs and Web Development Architecture
  • Good knowledge of relational database systems such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.

Senior Associate, Program Management - Role Description

What you will be doing

Kraftshala runs training programs for working professionals, graduates, and business school students. As a Senior Associate- Program Management, your goal would be to lead and execute various activities that lead to a gold standard learning experience. If you draw energy and satisfaction by helping people become a better version of themselves and have a knack for problem-solving​, this is the role for you. 

Program Management:

  • Planning activities and resources for incoming batches of students 
  • Ensuring students receive all program, project, other initiatives, etc. related information in-time and in-full
  • Understanding and solving their queries quickly by liaising with different stakeholders, both internal and external, - Academic Team, Product & Tech Team, Industry experts, current and ex-students, etc. 
  • Coordinating with different teams to ideate new activities that will further improve their experience and executing the same
  • Keeping a close watch on the feedback received from the students on various   initiatives and incorporating any changes required to further enhance the experience.
  • Work on maintaining and further improving our advocacy score of 95% (which has been hard-earned by the team) and work on being entrusted to deliver an outstanding experience

Process Optimization 

While working with a large set of students, student experience becomes a function of the processes designed to deliver it and so, you’ll be

  • Identifying gaps/activities which can be managed more efficiently, designing and implementing processes (including building upon/modifying the existing ones) to deliver an outstanding experience to the students
  • Employing various tools, softwares, and platforms to automate processes thereby reducing human intervention to ensure a seamless delivery 

Must Haves:

What is the recruitment process

As a small team (~26 folks), it’s imperative that we get to know each other before taking the leap. We want to ensure you succeed in your role within our team. Each conversation (telephonic/video conference) with us will last about 30-60 minutes. Typically the whole process takes between 7 - 15 business days depending on your and our schedules. The process will occur over telephonic calls, so you don’t need to worry about travel. 

  1. Setting expectations: This will be a call to understand your profile briefly and share the details of the next steps
  2. Writing Evaluation: This is a short writing assessment to make sure that you meet the standards required in the job.
  3. Technical Exercise: This is a specific assessment designed to evaluate your fit for this role
  4. Technical conversation I: This will be a telephonic call with our current Sales team wherein you can expect to be evaluated on your Sales skills and other competencies needed for the job (mentioned below).
  5. Culture fit conversation: A telephonic conversation with our founder to ensure that there is a fit with the Kraftshala Kode.
  6. Extending an offer: If all goes well, we will extend an offer mentioning the relevant details.

Compensation:

  • You should expect 6L - 8.5L INR / annum as your salary depending on your past experience and competency level with a 75-25 split between fixed and variable.

Associate/ Senior Associate, Partnerships Role Description

What you will be doing

Kraftshala runs training programs for working professionals, B-school students and Undergrad Students. As a part of the Partnerships Team, your goal would be to help these professionals and students figure relevant job opportunities by building relationships with various recruiters and closely mapping their requirements to our students’ profiles. If you draw energy and satisfaction by building effective, long-term relationships, this is the role for you.

  • Identify, develop and win new recruiter partnerships, in addition to strengthening current ones, for placing our students
    • Understand hiring needs and challenges to craft value added propositions
    • Understand student profiles and figure relevant job opportunities for them
    • Map recruiter requirements to our students’ profile and create compelling pitches for the recruiters
  • Establish relationships and credibility with C - levels/Heads among prospect companies
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders, internal and external to manage recruitment processes for our students 
  • Work with our students to help them think better about their careers, by giving them an understanding of different career paths possible and how to pursue them
  • Stay abreast with the recruitment ecosystem and keep an eye out on who’s hiring for what roles

Graphic Designer Role Description

What you will be doing

Being a marketing training platform, our creatives and design has to always be a step ahead to showcase the user understanding that we as marketers possess. Thus, if you love design, understanding users and how your design impacts the users, to actually transform their lives, this is as close to a dream role that you can get.

Social / Marketing Materials (60%):

  • We love marketing and we love training. And beyond our programs, we train through our social handles. We have content going out every single day and you will be responsible to experiment, iterate and drive this with the content and video editing team.   • Create marketing materials for our various launches, student stories, program brochures etc. to make Kraftshala reach to as many prospective students as possible.

UI / UX (30%) :

  • Redesign and build Kraftshala’s Learning platform’s UI from scratch and fix major UX challenges for web, android and iOS
  • Retaining the brand identity and continuously improving the website to minimise the drop-offs and convert better
  • Rapidly iterate the design based on user testing and business and technical considerations.
  • Creating clean, intuitive, and responsive interfaces with reusable design patterns

Innovation (10%):

What we are looking for
